WHEN TO TRAVEL
The weather in Thailand allows travelers to visit all year round. One time of year to consider avoiding is the rainy season. The rainy season lasts from May to October, during which time rainfall in Thailand is at its heaviest. The ideal time recommended to travel is during the cool and dry season between November and early April. Keep in mind, in the South, the climate differs between the eastern and western coasts. Be warned, April is the hottest month throughout Thailand with a daily average of 87 degrees Fahrenheit and 31 degree Celsius. The lowest temperature Thailand should experience occurs in the month of December with the low of 79 degrees Fahrenheit and 26 degree Celsius. On a daily year-round average expect temperatures in the mid to upper 80’s F and 30’s C.
WHAT TO PACK
When traveling to foreign country it is most important to do your research on the country’s cultural values, meaning what is the respectable way to dress. Thailand in terms of dress, doesn’t ask too much of you, when they do, they take it very seriously. Thailand is a modest country. When visiting a temple, palace, or sacred place you may not expose your shoulders or any skin above the knees, ideally cover your ankles as well. (Both Sexes) On the bottom I recommend wearing: capris, pants/trousers, knee-length-or-longer skirt. On top, a blouse or collared shirt is fine while a tank top is certainly NOT.
WHERE TO GO
I went to three different cities while in Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi. If you take a trip to Thailand I recommend making time for all three locations, each location offers a completely different landscapes and sights to see! ENJOY!
BANGKOK
Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. The population is over 8.281 million people within the city, aka CROWDED.

WHERE I STAYED IN CHIANG MAI
During our stay in Chiang Mai we stayed at the sweetest, most peaceful small boutique hotel. With a pool in the middle of the city it was a great, inexpensive place to relax out of the hustle and bustle of the busy city.
WHERE I WOULD WANT TO STAY NEXT TIME I AM IN CHIANG MAI
My sister and I were on a college student budget while traveling in Chiang Mai and we didn’t want to spend our money on where our heads lay at night. So, although the five star hotels are relatively inexpensive compared to most countries, we decided to save our money. Below are my top three favorite five star hotels that I looked into but did not stay at.
KRABI
Krabi, on southern Thailand’s west coast, is a province characterized by craggy, sheer limestone cliffs, dense mangrove forests, and more than a hundred offshore islands.
WHAT TO DO
Take a boat tour through the waters of Krabi! The views are breathtaking! We decided to do both a private boat tour and a public tour. The public tour was far too crowded, we did not learn as much while in the larger group.
WHERE TO STAY
Like almost all things in life, where you stay will depend on what’s in your wallet. My recommendation is to spend as little as possible on where you lay your head at night because that should be the only time it’s there. When in doubt, always refer to TripAdvisor!
There are SO many awesome, beautiful hotels in Krabi Town I encourage you to check out TripAdvisor reviews and ratings before booking!
I stay at a lovely hotel that I highly recommend. I will add the link below!
